LTSP

Linux Terminal Server Project (LTSP)


is a free and open source terminal server for Linux that allows many people to simultaneously use the same computer. Applications run on the server with a terminal known as a thin client (also known as an X terminal) handling input and output. Generally, terminals are low-powered, lack a hard disk and are quieter than desktop computers because they do not have any moving parts.

OSI and Layers

OSI MODEL

Model or main architectural reference for network that describe how data and network information communicated from a computer application to another computer application via transmission media.
OSI is not a hardware but a guide for vendors so that their devices can run in the network.

TCP/IP and Layers

TCP/IP Model


TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol)
 is the basic communication language or protocol of the Internet. It can also be used as a communications protocol in a private network (either an intranet or an extranet).
TCP/IP consist of a group of protocol which responsible of data communication parts. The protocols may not know how other protocols work like as long they can still sending and receiving data.
